Landscapes is one of my favourite things to build in Lego which is why I tend to gravitate towards microscale builds, as you can create larger landscapes with fewer pieces. Of course, with smaller scale there is also a loss in detail, so there is a balance to be struck.
This build I was testing an even smaller scale than usual, utilising green flexible spikes and some other pieces to try to create some dense forestry.
The build was inspired by a road trip through the foothills of the Rockies some 15 years ago. I had spent a couple of agonising hours driving through Kansas before finally reaching the foothills of the mountains. I remember it was such a relief to see hills and trees after seeing nothing but plains for what felt like forever 🙂
