Element Experimentation: Autumn Foliage

There are few things that can compare to the dazzling show of vivid colors that is the autumn foliage.

Element Experimentation: Autumn Foliage

This is definitely the most detailed 8×8 build I’ve ever made. The star of the show here is the 13564 – Cattle Horn – Long in Reddish Brown. When I ordered it I knew I wanted to try it for micro/nano scale trees, but I wasn’t sure how well it would work out. With this build it has certainly gone beyond my expectations and I’m really happy with the realistic detail it gives to the trees at such a small scale. Peeking into the forest actually gives quite a realistic feel, where you see loads of trunks but can still peer quite far into the forest between the trees.

I’m always on the look out for good looking small trees, because building big landscapes is something I really want to do, and you can’t really do that in minifig scale. I definitely see myself using this for bigger micro landscapes in the future, but I might have to get even more of those cattle horns first 😛
